Laura

Laura works at Three Ladies Antiques on Park Road in West Hartford.  They sell a variety of antiques like paintings, books, furniture, jewelry and rugs.

When I wear my glasses up there like Laura, things look blurry.  Kind of like the background.  Which I intended to be blurred.  Really.

Great name for an antique shop and you did an excellent job of 'accidentally on purpose' blurring the background Jack..there's a name for it, just cant remember what it is..

Another great post about an interesting person--what a fine photo, Jack! The blurring background is called bokeh.

I'd be tempted to go into san antique store named three ladies.

Oh gosh......so that's why everything looks so blurry.

Yes, you did a good job with the depth-of-field in this shot and got a fine portrait. Try putting your glasses on the back of your head and see how that works. As I recall your kids used to say you had eyes in the back of your head.

Very nice portrait. When I wear my glasses like that, I forget where they are.

I think your shot is great! Why shouldn't the background be blurred? All we care about is Laura's beautiful smile. :)

I'm sure the HDP management would be concerned if you were trying to blur Laura's face. She looks like she was having quite a chuckle watching you.

Regarding acupuncture, I think most folks use it as treatment for a particular ailment such as back problems, digestive issues, chronic pain etc. After acupuncture, I feel even better than having a massage.

Looking forward to seeing your submission for theme day!

So what do you look for when you're in an antique store, Jack?
