Very gripping portrait. Julie and I just returned from a week visiting some Sierra foothills wineries, Sequoia and Yosemite. At one of the small wineries, we got great photos of old cars and farm equipment, but afterwards Julie was kicking herself that she did not take a portrait of the old patriarch of the winery, who had a long, full gray beard. When she sees your photo today, she will kick herself again
Superb capture, Jack! And what a wonderful, interesting face he has! Love your portraits. And it is all about communicating whether words or gestures or photos. Have a beautiful day!
We did make it down to the Atheneum today. Spent several hours in the museum (even found a couple more Monets in another room) and then got caught in a pretty severe thunderstorm on the way home. But we're back in Brattleboro, safe and sound, and so glad you gave us the heads up on the Monet exhibit. Thanks.

It's such a beautiful portrait, Jack! I think that as long people want to communicate they can, even using different languages:)
Jack, you have such a talent for portraits. Wonderful shot.
This is one you need to be proud of...such a great photo and what a delightful encounter for both of you.
and a moving, beautiful portrait.
if the storms aren't too terrible, we're coming down to the Atheneum today to catch the exhibit before it leaves.

Those eyes have seen a lot of things... what a marvellous portrait! I never dare to picture people in street, I'm too shy..
Lovely portrait - I think he has a lot of kindness in those eyes a touch of mischief too!
The gentleness in his eyes contrasts with what looks like a harsh life... Beautiful portrait.
What a great portrait, Jack! Awesome colours in the background.
A fine portrait.
Wonderful portrait, he looks like a friendly, gentle man.
What a great portrait, Jack!
I'm always too shy to ask people if I can take their portrait. I really admire you for doing it.

That is an amazing portrait Jack! Nice background color.
This one is a winner and you can see the friendliness in his eyes as I am sure he saw in yours...

Like everyone else, I'm taken in by his friendly gaze. You said you were going to do more portraits. I'd say this one is a big success.
Just SUPERB!
Bravo Jack!
