The Loomis Chaffee School's Mercy Gallery includes a permanent exhibition featuring sculpture by Evelyn Beatrice Longdon Batchelder. Ms. Batchelder was the wife of the first headmaster of the school. She was an eminent sculptor in her own right, who studied under Daniel Chester French and worked with him on the Lincoln Memorial.
A snowbird shows photos from southwest Florida (Naples) and southwest Connecticut (Ridgefield) and New England and other places he goes.

I have shown artwork by students in the past after getting permission from the head of the fine arts department in my former school. As long as the students' names are not published, I'd assume it's all right. I'd love to see their work, too. Faculty at these independent schools often are very talented. Since my former school is within walking distance of my home, I frequently meet colleagues during lunch hour there and ALWAYS visit the art studios. I have now purchased work produced by artists who were former students...such a thrill. I've posted some of the art on my blog in the past. Love seeing those at this school, too.
There is some wonderful works in your photo!
Great gallery for that school which appears to have natural light. I am always impressed with student artists and glad to see this creativity encouraged and fostered at this school and in the community.

It's so great that they have a strong arts program! My son is a graphic designer and would have loved to go to a school like that.

What a great gallery. I hope the students realize how lucky they are to have that resource.
Both pics are great. Wonderful gallery.
Wonderful that the students are exposed to so much art!
I love the angle of your second shot. It's great that there is so much art around, including BBQ books! ;-)
Looks like there is a nice mix of modern and more classic works as well. I like that in a gallery.
