The Stanley-Whitman House is a house museum in Farmington village. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1960.
The house is a classic New England saltbox form, and it has a classic stone wall along the street. This would have been the good life in the beginning of the eighteenth century.

It looks like a good life. Great photo, love old historic homes
How interesting! I wonder what it looks like inside.
Looks like a good life right now! What a beautiful structure.
I love a nice stone wall, whether it's in front of a house or a pasture.
I always enjoy visiting these period homes; gives me some idea of a bygone era.
I think I could have survived here.
It's beautiful...and as Farmchick said, it wouldn't be a bad life now (esp. if it had indoor plumbing!)...
Re your "incendiary" comment on Ocala DP: You like "faded" colors? I don't think so. I think you're kidding me! Maybe you should move to Boca Raton? Put a little fire in your life! :-)
I can tell from the chimney that there is a grand fireplace inside.
I love these old homes. I also like this shot. You framed it all very well. I'm getting the picture that Farmington is a very nice place.
It looks so European.
Very cool composition, Jack!
Nice angle on the building. I like how you've incorporated the sign.
Wonderful! It looks so very well preserved.
I do love these old, old houses!
It has an interesting shape with that overhang to the first floor. I wonder why they did that?
Wonderful old house and glad that it is being maintained... heritage and history.
