Gold Building

The Gold Building in Hartford is a downtown high-rise office building that
houses, among other companies, the headquarters of United Technologies.

But, by the standards of Russia's former capital, St. Petersburg, Hartford knows nothing about gold.
Here is just part of the banquet hall in Catherine's Palace, in the suburb of Pushkin.
The palace was nearly destroyed in World War II but has been
brilliantly (sic!) restored using original techniques.

And, as a bonus picture, regular readers know that I occasionally sneak photographs of
beautiful brides who get married in Elizabeth Park.  This Russian beauty is shown
in front of Catherine's Palace.

You must be having a wonderful trip! Both building are noteworthy for different reasons. The young couple look so innocent!

I take it you're still traveling. Love that gold building, and the wedding picture looks like it could have been taken in Hartford, except for the guy. He looks St. Petersburg. :)

Terrific captures for the day as always, Jack, and I do believe that you're having a great time! That gold room is awesome!! AND you always find a beautiful woman -- this ones new husband looks a little "too" Russian for my taste, but then I'm a finicky old broad!! I'm so glad you're having such a wonderful trip and thanks for sharing, next best thing to being there myself!!

I think I prefer the church to the gold building in the first shot... but that palace is just incredibly beautiful!

What a clever idea to pair your pics! Very cool. Regarding Catherine's Palace….wow -- that's conspicuous consumption. Safe travels!

Three wonderful pictures. The bride is stunning but the groom needs a Xanax at a minimum.
