Millstone Farm
Millstone Farm is primarily a wholesale farm located in Wilton, Connecticut (the town immediately south of my new home in Ridgefield). I drove in and looked around.
Drew has been the farm manager for seven years Before that, he was a wilderness guide out West..

Stone Walls
Stone walls are a common presence in an old New England town like Ridgefield that mixes old farms and country living with impressive newer homes and suburban life. Stone walls of all kinds.
. . . to a stone wall built a century ago in front of a farm house . . .
. . . to the kind-of-formal stone walls in front of a well-loved older house . . .
. . . to a fortress-like leave-me-alone stone wall like this one.

Introducing Southwest Daily Images
First, there was Hartford Daily Photo. Then, I bought a winter home in Naples, Florida, and this blog became Naples and Hartford in Season. Now, my summer home has moved from West Hartford to Ridgefield, a lovely town along the border between Connecticut and New York.
So . . . this blog is now Southwest Daily Images.
Southwest? What do Naples and Ridgefield have to do with the Southwest?
Well, Naples is the center of Southwest Florida and Ridgefield is in Fairfield County, the southwest corner of both Connecticut and New England. I have much to discover about this part of New England. Come and learn along with me.
(Touch of Sedona, Southwest Gifts and Healing Center is a small shop on Main Street in Ridgefield.)

Summers Now in Ridgefield, Connecticut
I have moved. The new house is in the southwest corner of Connecticut, in Ridgefield. It is in a wooded area backing up to a preserve.
Though the pandemic has interfered with my normal living patterns, I will still spend more of the year in Southwest Florida, from mid-October through mid-May, but now the summers will be here in Ridgefield, 10 - 15 minutes from my daughter, her husband and my two little granddaughters.

The Lights Go Out in West Hartford

Today the house that has been home in West Hartford for forty years passes into new hands.
The new owners are a fine couple with two teenagers. I know it will be as good for them as it was for us.
