Cormorants

Cormorants are fishers.  Like their straight-billed relatives the anhingas,
they don't have oil to waterproof their feathers, so they air out after a dive.

Red Dress Dash

Cheryl (above) is one of the members of the Red Dress Dashers (bottom).  I didn't get the name of the redhead at the left.

The Red Dress Dash was held in Olde Naples on Friday evening.  (It was getting dark, so I left before the race was run.)

The event is a fundraiser for the American Heart Association.  But, beyond fundraising, the goal is to inform the public that more women die from heart disease than all cancers combined.

Greek Festival

The annual Greek Festival is being held this weekend at
St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church on Airport-Pulling Road in Naples.

Father Philemon Patitsas, priest of the church.

Panayotis and his father, Fotis, modeling some of the headwear they were selling.

Lots of good food!

Greeks seem to like bright colors!

Pantelis, "The Greek Artist."
His artwork recalled beautiful places I visited last June in Greece.

A Morgan Six Ways

 1.  Here is a Morgan Aeromax coupe, probably 2008 or 2009,
with three reflections of a tall photographer wearing a yellow shirt.  For Weekend Reflections.

2.  If you have to ask, you can't afford it.
But, the answer is 110,000 pounds ($180,000).
About 100 were made.

3.  They were pretty much hand made.  On a wooden frame.
By the same Morgan family than has made them for over a century.

4.  I didn't lie on my stomach.  I placed the camera on the ground and turned the rotating
LED screen up so I could see the image.  Much easier.  And much cleaner.

5.  Something old, something new.

6.  And, it is not my fault the parking block and stripes are
off center.  I didn't park it.

Third on Canvas: Kevin

Like me, Kevin Shea is a snowbird.
In summers he paints scenes from New England and in winters he paints Florida scenes.
Kevin also offers workshops in Tuscany.

Third on Canvas: Jane

For the past two days, forty artists have been painting along Naples'
Third Avenue South.  On Saturday the works will be auctioned
and the profits will benefit a mental health and substance abuse center.

Jane Keeling painted a fountain.
