Books on the Common

Back in Connecticut.  I stopped in at Books on the Common, on Main Street in Ridgefield.

I needed some books and I always admire the colorful plantings on Main Street.

International Dancers, Part Three

Maybe Spanish?

OK, these dancers are from Albania.  The dancing felt Greek, but I looked up the red flag with a black double-headed eagle on it, and Albania is next door to Greece.  The crowd loved it and joined in.

Maybe some kind of Latin dance.  I don't know, but she was having fun.

International Dancers, Part Two

You probably noticed that the dancers in my images are all women.  Not my fault!  While I was there, every dancer was a woman.  Or a girl.

Ummm, I don't know which country they represent.  Sorry.

International Dancers, Part One

The Mercato is an upscale shopping area ten minutes down the road.  On Saturday they hosted a festival of international dancing.  Unfortunately, dancers took the stage one after another without any announcements, so I don't know who they were or what countries they represent.

I arrived during her performance and got into position only at the end.
The dancing had a Latin feeling, but who knows?

I'm guessing these dancers were from somewhere in the Pacific Islands.

These two were very lively.  I don't have the slightest idea which country or even which part of the world they represent, but they sure had fun.

More tomorrow.

A Duck in Flight

I usually don't even try to catch a duck flying past.  They take off without warning.  They fly fast in unpredictable directions.  You have to have the right camera settings before they fly . . . it is too late to change the settings after they depart.  Then you have to spot them, get the aim right, focus, track the flight and not clip off a wing or other body part.

But I got this mottled duck.  Score!

Symmetry

The theme for City Daily Photo bloggers on April 1 is "symmetry."

That reminded me of one of my favorite images, from a 2014 visit to the September 11 Memorial & Museum.  I came across a highly reflective glass wall with young people nearby.
