A Different View Of Elizabeth Park

Susie, Wessel and the girls are in Rhode Island for the Fourth, visiting a close friend and her parents.

Whenever I dogsit, I go to the undeveloped back end of Elizabeth Park.  The granddogs go off leash, chase squirrels, explore the woods and run around like banshees.

With a photograph of Elizabeth Park, I began this blog seven years ago.  Until my son's recent illness, I had posted every day.  My enthusiasm for wandering around with a camera has been low since John died, and I had drafted a final post ending the blog.  But, I am  going to give it a try.
No promises, but for now the blog continues.  Maybe I will get in the mood again. 

Bus Stop

Behind them is a badly deteriorating and abandoned office building in downtown Hartford.  It was sold recently.  The new owners have announced ambitious plans to renovate it into apartments.

Independence Day

Out of the Jurisdiction: R. J. Julia

Madison is a lovely town on the Connecticut shore.  It has an especially picturesque main street.

A highlight of Madison's main street is R. J. Julia, the best independent bookstore in Connecticut and maybe New England.  The people who work in the store pick the books to promote, and they place hand-written notes explaining what they liked about the books.

I already had a stack of unread books, but I bought three more any way.  Who could resist?
