Blue Skies, Bright Sunlight and Brutal Cold in Hartford on Sunday

It was a day to drive around, roll down the car window, take a quick photo, then roll it up again.

Center Church - First Church of Christ on Hartford's Main Street,
with the Gold Building on the right and CitiPlace to the rear.

The Travelers Tower in sunlight and Wadsworth Atheneum in shadow.

Connecticut State Capitol (again).

Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch.

Welcome, Hazel Rose

Hazel Rose was impatient.  She burst onto the scene two weeks early, last Tuesday night.
Congratulations, Susie and Wessel.  You are great parents!
And Willa will be a great big sister.

Back in Connecticut for a Few Days

So, I checked out Elizabeth Park as it wears its late winter, early spring dress.

The annual garden is bare now.  It does double duty as host for bulbs before the annuals are planted.

Some croci are already up.  (Are crocuses still croci when no one knows Latin any more?)

The perennial garden's gazebo looks lonely with all the flowers gone.

The rose garden is drab.  Hard to remember how colorful it is in June.

The mallards are glad the ice melted long ago.

And it is so much easier getting reflections on the pond when the foliage is gone.

Greek Dances

The St. Katherine Greek Fest was last month.  I never got around to posting any photographs of the dancing.  My bad.  Here are some photos of the older children.

And some spectators who got caught up in the dancing.

Black and White in Color

Walking toward the light through the lobby of Hotel Indigo in Fort Myers, I spotted a man and woman whose body language I liked.  Yes, there are some light red bricks,
but on the whole the image reads like a black and white.

That is the March theme for City Daily Photo bloggers:  "Black and White in Color."
A color photograph that looks like a black and white.
