Out of the Jurisdiction: Around Budapest

The Hungarian Parliament building is an amazingly beautiful and ornate structure, from all angles.

A statue of Gyuly Andrassy on horseback is in a plaza at the south end of Parliament.  Andrassy was prime minister of Hungary before moving on the become Foreign Minister of Austro-Hungary.

Along the Pest side of the Danube, below the Parliament, 60 pairs of 1940s-style shoes, true to life in size and detail, are sculpted out of iron. This memorial depicts the shoes left behind by the thousands of Jews who were murdered in the Holocaust.

A friend of Andrassy sits on steps overlooking the Danube.

A handsome automobile sits outside Gerbaude, a wonderful cafe.

Beautiful architecture. I'm sure I've seen the memorial before.

An impressive building. Powerful memorial. Weird looking car photo.
