While in Fort Myers, I went to see the park along the Caloosahatchee River. What a disappointment to see that it was blocked off for a purported restoration. If they are improving it, why are there no signs of activity, and why were no workers there mid-afternoon on a weekday?
It was pretty sad that a disconnected fountain honoring Thomas Edison, Henry Ford and Harvey Firestone -- all winter residents of Fort Myers in the early 20th century -- was left in a neglected state outside the supposed construction area.

There is no accounting for construction or restoration projects. The city will get to it in their own good time.
There's a project here that seems to be taking forever like that.
