When I was at the Old Florida Festival last month, I walked past an ordinary looking guy wearing
a ball cap and holding the hand of a young child. It was Florida's governor, Rick Scott.
I asked permission to take a photograph. He was friendly and cooperative.
Scott is a wealthy former business executive and a conservative Republican. In general, I try to keep politics out of this blog, though I did veer into political topics a few times during the last election cycle. Even though I opposed Trump, I'm getting tired of the drumbeat of negative political commentary after the recent election, so I am turning comments off for this post.
