Susie, Wessel and Willa deserved some time alone as a family, so . . . off to the highveld bush
to see some animals!
My 70 – 300 mm lens failed immediately. Close-ups of distant animals were hard to get
with my every day 18 – 135 mm lens, but I worked at it.
The beautiful flat-topped trees are serenga.
Wide angle scenes of the African bush with my shorter lens are pretty,
even without animals, don’t you think?
even without animals, don’t you think?
Don’t worry. Some animals were close enough to get good images with the lesser lens.
Come see the animals, starting tomorrow.
You can't wait until tomorrow for animals? OK. Here is a wide angle elephant sighting.
(I am such a tease.)
Awesome shots. Thank you Jack.
ReplyDeleteThere's a saying that when Africa gets in your head it never leaves.. so true, you are a tease Jack, love these scenes.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful photos with the land and its spectacular color. South Africa definitely has gotten into my head and heart!
ReplyDeleteAh, I am envious of your time in Africa!! I've always wanted to go there, but your pics are the next best thing!! Can't wait to see more!! So sorry about your camera!! They do pick the wrong times to fail, don't they!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, love these shots. The scenery is so beautiful and just as I would imagine. That last shot is superb.
ReplyDeleteEven without the animals, these are beautiful photos Jack. You are so versatile. :)
ReplyDeleteOh no, your long lens really failed, did it? What rotten timing... Never mind, the scenery is stunning with that golden glow.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant shots, Jack! Especially that 1st one!
ReplyDeleteThey are all beautiful photographs!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful countryside!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful place. Looking forward to seeing some animals!!
ReplyDeleteYes, you are a tease! Looking forward to seeing some animal pics. And…what do you mean….your 70-300 mm 'failed immediately'? That sounds quite disturbing.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun!
ReplyDeleteI really like the wide-angle shots you took, Jack. You make South Africa look so spacious and lovely!
