Age is No Barrier (Continued): 9. Marty

Marty (76) was head of IT for a New York City college.  These days he teaches four courses
of math at a Naples college and does private math tutoring for high school students.
He claims he teaches and tutors to fund his collection of watches and vintage cars.
I think he does it because he likes math and helping young people learn.

Vintage cars ?! that means a LOT of teaching hours .. :o)

Many students need all the help that he can give. I also hope that he volunteers his time for those kids who need help but cannot afford tutoring fees.

I think you may be right Jack AND vintage cars don't come cheap :) Super portrait shot.

That's a smart man with a couple of very expensive hobbies.

He looks like he'd be a great tutor! nHe must collect garages too to keep his cars in. ;)

Yes, I agree, he does look as though he'd be a great tutor! You do have some wonderful people in your world, Jack, people that do so much -- in spite of age! Of course, Marty, is still a youngster -- believe me!!!

The trick with these older people you have shown us seems to be to stay active, Jack! And maybe move somewhere warm for winter! ;-))

The people you've been showing us do seem to stay active.

I agree. At 76 I doubt it's for the Benjamins. There got to be more.

Nice portrait (though I'd also like to see him smiling through the window of one of his vintage cars).

Another fine portrait. He has a pensive Thinker look about him. I probably could've used him as a math tutor back in the day!
