This is another image from Cedar Hill Cemetery. I don't think these crosses mark the graves of well known people. I just liked the pattern of crosses marching down the hillside, with the lady's statue and a couple of obelisks behind them. This post is linked to
Taphophile Tragics.
Nice composition Jack.
ReplyDeleteOne family? I wonder about the design and how it is associated with the deceased?
ReplyDeleteYes...visually appealing. Note to self: I would prefer not to have a statue of a sitting lady atop my grave.
ReplyDeleteI also wonder about crosses in the foreground. I assume it must be a Greek Orthodox or Russian Orthodox family, based on the shape of the crosses.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting headstones.
ReplyDeleteFantastic pictures. Are the gravestones all from the same family?
ReplyDeleteBeneath Thy Feet
Now those are different.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot as always and wonderful composition! The four crosses are interesting, makes me curious about the history! I, too, will decline a woman seated on my grave -- oh, right, that's why I'm planning on being cremated and scattered to winds!! Hope your week is going well, Jack!!
ReplyDeleteCool shot jack! This looks like a well-maintained cemetery.
ReplyDeleteI agree, it does make a very nice scene.
ReplyDeleteVery neat and orderly, I like the repeated pattern.
ReplyDeleteThat is a really nice pattern.
ReplyDeleteVery nice picture, Jack. I, too, like the composition.
ReplyDeleteAncient design in a new iteration. The weathered versions in Ireland have more romance.
ReplyDeleteThat looks great.
ReplyDeleteI agree: it is a fascinating formation!
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteyes, i also like the lady in the back!
