Inside the Golden Lamb Buttery
Even though I didn't have time for a meal on my recent trip through eastern Connecticut, I did go inside the Golden Lamb Buttery. In the summer and early fall on good days, luncheon is served on an open deck out back. This is a view from the front, looking through the barn to the open deck at the rear. There are three inside dining rooms not visible here, in the back, off this main hall.

"Buttery" is a strange word to find still in use; I thought it was only venerable institutions like our older universities that used it. It looks an intriguing place; I can see lots of corners that would have seduced my camera.
It really does look like the kind of place I would like!
What a great place! I would love to visit here.
So much to see when pulled in closer Jack, you can just see the rooms that go off the main area, I can see why it's so popular.
This would be my kind of place too! Looks like there are many interesting things to look at while you're eating.
Wow, this place is big. There seems to be a lot to look at while you wait for your table.
I do not know of any places like this in the two places I call home, Arizona or Costa Rica.
Yes, I could spend a bit of time browsing the walls there! Too bad about the Sally Ann sign though, doesn't fit the rest of the decor.
Definitely my kind of place, Jack! I love the idea that it's in the old barn and so many interesting things to check out! Thanks for another look at the Golden Lamb Buttery -- love the name, too!!! Enjoy your weekend!
Love the name of the place.
I love old barns like this! Lots to look at in this one.
Love all the wood. Very cozy.
Lovely place with its beams of wood!
Seems to be a lot of things to look at in there!
Thanks for sharing, Jack;o)

Have a fabulous week****
Now I like the place and can easily imagine myself dining there!
Looks like you could spend a full day just looking at the pictures on the walls.
I would love to dine there! It looks quite interesting!
Beautiful interior.
