This mounted Hartford police officer watched over the skating kids last Monday night.
You saw his horse and him in the summer, quietly providing security for another Bushnell Park event. He finds a spot out of the action, where he can calmly survey the scene without attracting a lot of attention.
I love this scene, Jack, beautiful shot!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have police officers with horses here...
Though I see a lot of mounted police in Versailles, they weren't at the Christmas market, lol! Cool night shot!
ReplyDeleteHe probably noticed you and wanted to be photographed again.
ReplyDeletewhat a beautiful shot, jack.
ReplyDeleteNice to see him on the scene.
ReplyDeleteIt must be a trick to avoid attention while on a horse.
ReplyDeleteLovely shot Jack, I love that his 'partner' is a horse, I bet they are pretty well known around your area.
ReplyDeleteNice composition with the Christmas tree in background!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shot, Jack! Love the Christmas tree in the background, too! Always great to know there are those great men and women that provide security for us all! I love his "partner", too! Have a beautiful day!

Another great night shot! I love that tree in the background. And the lighting on the officer is eerily perfect! :)
ReplyDeleteNice shot Jack!
ReplyDeleteHe's in such a great holiday spot for your photo with that tree in the background.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking tree and horse!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot Jack! I think that horse would attract attention no matter how hard he tried to hide.
ReplyDeleteWe used to have mounted police in downtown Ocala - patrolling. The horses went away; to where I do not know.
ReplyDeleteThen the tried officers on bikes, and then on Segways. All gone now.
I think some cops drive around in cars. Must be safer that way. For the cops.
Nice light on this shot!
The mounted police are a HUGE draw in our city. I doubt if they could be unobtrusive if they tried. Such good coverage for events!!
ReplyDeleteJust plain cool. We lost our mounted patrol 'bout 5 years ago... $$$$$$$$$.
ReplyDeleteThough you say he tries to stay out of the action, I'm sure the kids skating find him fun.
ReplyDeleteNice to know someone watches over the patrons. I like how you captured the man on the ground in conversation with the officer.
ReplyDeleteIt's always so neat when we see the man and his horse like the "good old days" in today's world;D
ReplyDeleteI like the lighting here.
Love the composition and weird color/light. It looks like a detailed comic book illustration.
ReplyDeleteLove the Christmas tree in the background -- festive scene. It must get pretty busy for law enforcement to bring out the mounted patrol.
ReplyDeleteNice image Jack. I imagine you can see a lot more from high up on a horse. The horse looks very patient.
ReplyDeleteNow, that's a great night shot, Jack!
