I think that is actually aimed at the opposing team.

I think we should aim cannon at our national football team - maybe it would help:)

I think it's a symbol to the home team of something very powerful - I mean they can be powerful as well and maybe take home the winners trophy!

I'm surprised no one in the community has organized a protest yet to insist it be removed from the vicinity where children play. Just sayin'...
I hope that the team's record is not so dismal that it puts them in jeopardy!!
