Comstock Hall
Comstock Hall was built in East Hartford in 1899 as a theater. It always had retail shops on the first floor. After being vacant for a while, it was renovated within the past decade but still lives a precarious existence.
'Tis a very lovely old building with a familiar name in American history. I would certainly hope that somehow it will remain intact and cared for and not be torn down to make way for another McDonald's!
Those arched windows just make it! No, we weren't affected by the tornadoes. A couple skipped through the county in rural areas with mostly tree damage. Thanks.
Very impressive building with beautiful windows!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots!
Léia ;)
It's very pretty. I like the windows especially. Hope they do keep it in business.
ReplyDeletePS: Glad you're back. Hope you enjoyed the time away. :)
Those windows could be courthouse windows or what my midwest upbringing thinks of as courthouse windows.

ReplyDeleteIf my memory is correct, there is a Comstock Hall on the U of Mn Mpls campus. Now I'll have to research that name!
