The Victorian style is popular in greater Hartford. Fortunately, many have been preserved and are well-maintained.
The top photo shows an impressive Victorian house down the street from the New Britain Museum of American Art, which was featured two days ago. It is painted periwinkle blue.
The next two houses stare at each other across Prospect Street. The first, with gray-green siding and dark green trim, is on the West Hartford side. The other, with dark green siding, is on the Hartford side of the street.

Wow, these are real beauties. I'd love to walk these streets and admire these homes.
Everytime I visit my home town of Quincy Illionois, I spend hours walking the streets and taking photos of the grand old houses that were once owned by the wealthy Mississippi River merchants and industrialists who settled there.
These are lovely homes. And so big!!! I like the Victorian style... it's not that prevalent down here in Jackson though. We like our neo-classical columns. And New Orleans style balconies.
I want the 3rd one, the green one! It's absolutely DREAMY! But, oh the weekend warrior projects and maintenance....
Wow these are great examples of a bygone style. We have quite a few here especially in Salinas (where Steinbeck grew up). I appreciate their design but am sometimes creeped out by the interiors.
Totally timeless! Classics, all!
Beautiful homes. I wouldn't want to have to heat them these days but they sure are gorgeous!
Thank goodness people continue to preserve and use these beatuties.
I'll take the one on the bottom. Great looking house.
I love Victorian homes. So stately. Beautiful photos, Jack. I've always wanted to live in one of those. I feel like a kid growing up in one must have had a field day. Those are well kept too.
Three beautiful houses, the first is a bit too garish for my taste, but I could get used to this!
Three elegant spots!I imagine people there is very rich! If I could choose, I guess I would live in that charming blue house, first picture. ;)
