The Carousel in Bushnell Park is about 95 years old.
I haven't figured out yet how to take photos of moving objects and still focus on one of the elements, but I thought this came out pretty well for a beginner.
See what Oakland Daily Photo did with a similar carousel moment out on the West Coast last week. I SWEAR I didn't know about that photo when I took this picture and put it into auto-posting.

This shot turned out nicely. Well done!
Oh, Jack, I'm so glad I stumbled on this photo! I'm trying to learn this technique too. Here is my one attempt

By the way, I love your 'bright colors' contribution!
I can't wait to see the other one you recommended!
Thanks for the comments. I decided that the place that would be moving most slowly was the edge that formed a right angle between the center of the carousel and me. So, I aimed at that spot and waited for someone to come. it worked pretty well.
I think this turned out very well! Nice job. I like that it's some grown-up guy looking pensively out-- not who you would expect to see on a carousel!
This turned out great, it shows movement yet the main subject, the riders, are in focus. The railing on the left leads us to the people on the ride.
