Old Naples Cottages

Wandering around Old Naples, I photographed a few of the "Old Florida" style cottages.
If these cottages are original and not reproductions, they are usually from the 1920s,
though they have been renovated and expanded extensively.

They do look rather expensive.

Elegant homes. Though they don't seem to have much in common with what constitutes a cottage in the UK.

These are wonderful, Jack! So much nicer than the new monster homes!

They really are beautiful!

They're not like what we in Canada would think of as a cottage either!

These are the kinds of Florida homes I remember from my youth. They are quite stylish.

Such lovely places to see or to stay. I also love the word "cottage" because it has an old-fashioned ring to it. We stay in a cottage on Washington Island, Door County but in cabins in Minnesota while vacationing.

So neat and clean. I like the one with the look-out tower on the roof.

Lovely, lovely homes but I think they've long since outgrown what I'd think of as a cottage.
