Connecticon 2016

For four days, folks in costumes wandered around downtown Hartford.  Many were early teens, maybe thirteen through fifteen.  More were late teens through 20s.  More girls than guys.
Lots of wigs.  A rare few were nearly my age.  (Yikes.)
Most were looking for someone to photograph them.  I obliged.
Alexander Calder's Stegosaurus was a popular location for pictures.

Interesting and fun photos. I like the last one and wonder who they were pointing to. Was it you Jack? :)

A Wonderful collection of people portraits. I think that some of them may not be wigs; haven't you noticed this year that many women are using unusual colour to highlight or dye their hair? While photographing one beauty, I asked her the reason for the colour, and she whispered "Chemo." Now I have a different attitude toward pink, purple and green hairstyles altho I don't think that some of these young females are in the same group as she. What fun to watch youth and happy behaviour!!

What cool event! It is not often that one finds so many people eager to be photographed.

That must have been a fun few days as a photographer.

What a fantastic collection of characters! It looks like maybe a ComicCon is in town.

The woman with the cards is my favourite of these, Jack. These costumes do make for good photo subjects!

What great fun that must have been, Jack!

How lucky you were to be downtown when all these characters showed up in costume. The women with the cards must have been the Queen of Hearts, but look out. She has a club.
