Sanibel Lighthouse

Sanibel is a barrier island off the coast of southwest Florida.  There has been a lighthouse at
the eastern end since 1884.  The Coast Guard electrified it in 1962.
In 2010 the lighthouse was transferred
to the City of Sanibel.

What beautiful white sands and temperatures to go with it (judging by the people relaxing on the beach). Nice old lighthouse too!

Lighthouses ae a real draw for me. Love the different sizes and shapes. One quite close to us on Lake Superior, Split Rock is a favorite.

That lighthouse is a great place for a lookout. Love the sandy beach.

I like it! Sanibel is also a great beach for finding all kinds of wonderful sea shells.

I do love the beach!! Beautiful! Wish I were there today!! It's cold and very windy here in Portland today! I could use some warm sand and sun!! Terrific capture as always, Jack!!

Very different from what you'd think of in terms of lighthouses!

It has turned cold & windy here today so it is wonderful to see the sandy beach of Sanibel, Jack!

Such white sand - and an interesting lighthouse, not as solid looking as some but I guess it does the job.

Aaaah! Love Sanibel. You were a short walk from where I recuperated from cancer surgery last winter. (Not a bad place for R & R.)

People on the beach! It's 21 degrees here right now.

Your comment about auto correct cracked me up. I know it's happened to me many times.
