Another panel on a Bonita Springs building is an homage to Florida's farming heritage, which is still big business today.  The inland parts of the state have miles of citrus trees and strawberry 

fields.  Cattle graze endlessly in other areas.  Jarrett Stinchcomb is the artist.

St. Patrick's Day Parade

The Naples St. Patrick's Day Parade brought the customary throngs to 

Third Street South and Fifth Avenue South yesterday.

Nothing like a good bagpipe band.

A stilt walker.

The biggest cheers were given to the New York City's firefighters, whose float has

343 American flags, one for each firefighter who died in the September 11, 2001,

attack on the World Trade Center.

Eaglets

I went back to see the two eaglets living in the nest featured in the Eaglecam at Dick Pritchett Real Estate in North Fort Myers.  The parents -- mother Harriett and father M15 -- were away searching for food.  One of the eaglets was in the nest, out of sight.  But, one eaglet looked out.

It was a cloudy day, without the best light, but I thought that this image would be helpful in showing the eaglet and two of the popular webcams that hundreds of thousands of people like to watch.

R.I.P. Chastity

A roadside memorial to Chastity sits on the side of the road in Buckingham, a rural neighborhood in Fort Myers.  42-year old Chastity died a few days before Christmas in 2016.

While I was talking with Ron about his flags, Randy stopped to buy a Confederate flag.
