High on a hillside in South Salem, New York, Le Château was commissioned by J.P. Morgan in 1907 as a gift for his pastor and friend, the Rev. William S. Rainsford. Originally called Savin Rock, the country retreat was designed by Atterbury & Atterbury, prominent architects of the day.
Today the facility is a high end event venue, hosting weddings, bar and bat mitzvahs,
corporate events and more.
We could all do with some friends like J P Morgan!
ReplyDeleteImpressive!
ReplyDeleteA fine friend!
ReplyDeleteFrom your photo I can see he was influenced by the Prairie Style. A most impressive building.
ReplyDeleteMe ha encantado la parte exterior del edificio. Supongo que su interior lucirá bastante bien, cuando lo utilizan para banquetes de bodas u otras celebraciones.
ReplyDeleteGreat composition.
ReplyDeleteNice gift!
