Like yesterday's photo of the Old State House, this shot from the riverfront plaza back into the downtown was taken Sunday afternoon. The tented structure is intended to bring to mind
the sails of boats that once plied the Connecticut River.
The most prominent building is the blue-green, glass, boat-shaped building of Nassau Reinsurance (which acquired Phoenix Insurance a year ago). To its left is the freshly renovated Travelers Tower.
A kids' train pulled by Thomas the Tank Engine is at the riverfront some weekends.
What would Rev W Awdry think about Thomas plying his trade in a cityscape like that? He's certainly a long way from the Island Of Sodor.
ReplyDeleteThe two buildings you identified certainly illustrate a contrast in architectural styles. I like both of them because of the time period in which they were erected. The train certainly offers a diversion for little people.
