Greek Dances

The St. Katherine Greek Fest was last month.  I never got around to posting any photographs of the dancing.  My bad.  Here are some photos of the older children.

And some spectators who got caught up in the dancing.

Jack are they doing Zorba's dance? That brings back memories ☺

Ah, yes! Zorba, the Greek--what a fun movie with a terrific sound track. Ethnic festivals are always colourful and rich material for photographers. Loved the photos and thanks for the sweet comment yesterday.

You've reminded me that I haven't been the the local Greek Fest for several years. I enjoyed it so much when I went. The dancing and music are both very inspiring. It makes you want to get up and join in as the ladies in your last photo have done.

The traditional attire is quite intricate. There's a Greek festival held here at one of the churches late in the summer.

The spectators look like they know what they are doing.

That looks like a fun and GREAT event!
I can nearly smell the food.... all the way over here.

(Or perhaps it is from our Greek restaurant in town, next to where we had coffee when you and your wife visited Stavanger.)

Great costumes. The dancing looks like a lot of fun. (Folk dance was one of my half unit elective P.E. classes in college. Not much athleticism in my family.)
