A Special Car
Many people gathered around this 1926 Model T Ford Roadster, which was painted to honor the New York City fire fighters who died at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
On the hood, all 323 fire fighters' names are listed.
It's a lovely old car but it seems a bit frivolous as a memorial. The engraved names of the fire battalions and their dead in the black marble surrounding the deep square pool on the WTC site seems more fitting to me.

What an awesome way to pay tribute.
Impressive and poignant.
Wow, that is a real labor of love.
It's hard to believe that it is that long ago.
This is probably the most unique tribute I've seen. That paint job is a real labor of love.

That is a wonderful tribute. I am sure this car will be displayed in a place of honor, and perhaps used in parades. Perfect. Great post.
