People in the Rose Garden

There was a reader.  Her book, Young Skins, is about the interaction of several Irish characters.
The book had a good review in the New York Times.

When you come across someone posing, do you take photos?  I do.

The Park is near a Catholic university, University of St. Joseph, so I should not
have been surprised to see a nun taking photographs in the garden.

I'm not sure, but I think this young woman was being photographed for Quinceañera,
a celebration for Hispanic girls when they become fifteen.
She is in the annual garden, not the rose garden.

  1. Beautiful images from a lovely garden.
    Some great models too:)
The last one looks like a princess.

  2. All four portraits are unique and fun to see, Jack. The two girls who are benched could't be more different, one immersed in a book and the other posing for the camera man and viewers. The nun looks like she knows what she is doing. . .do you think she is a secret blogger? ¡ And, of course, the sweet young señorita celebrating Quinceañera is lovely!

  3. You are correct. When someone is posing for a photographer they are fair game. As usual, your portraits worked out well.

  4. It looks like the perfect place for people watching as well as enjoying the flowers. I bet you are right about the young lady in the last shot. Even though I live in an area heavily influenced by Hispanic heritage, I only recently learned about this celebration and I think it was from one of my readers.
