Collier County beaches are vulnerable to erosion. Many need to be "renourished" every few years. (That is code for having sand trucked in or dredged up.) Clam Pass is nearly closed,
so it is being dredged, and the nearby beaches (like this one) will be receiving much needed sand.
This beach is need of help... soon. The last time I was in Florida I saw the dredging crews at work repleting the beach.

ReplyDeleteI guess sand on our beaches gets moved around and no-one does much about it. It's not fine and white like this.
