The Garden of Hope and Courage is on a pond on the campus of Naples Community Hospital.
The garden was conceived by Jan Emfield, a breast cancer patient, and financed in large part by her family and friends after her death. It is a place for cancer patients to relax, reflect and restore.
The entrance to the garden features a three part sculpture by Naples artist Kathy Spalding.
On each side is a 1,500 pound featherlike bronze sculpture, with
the 500 pound figure of "Bloom" between them.

It is so beautiful Jack. What a nice tribute by her family.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful and worthwhile memorial. Thanks for showing it.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely is a place for reflection and thought, planned I am sure for a feeling of serenity. It takes both hope and courage to face cancer; the memorial surrounded by nature is most appropriately named.
ReplyDeleteThat is quite a beautiful space.
ReplyDeleteJack I love the way you've shown us the Garden of Hope, what a very serene place which I'm sure is very appreciated by it's intended visitors. A wonderful gesture by Jan Enfield's famille.
ReplyDeleteVery peaceful, and fitting for its location.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful and peaceful. I would hope it can be enjoyed by anyone, not just cancer patients. A lovely way to pay tribute to someone.
