Faces in the Crowd at Bushnell Park's Monday Night Jazz

The musicians were taking too long to warm up, so I started walking through the crowd.
"I am taking photos of faces in the crowd and you have a face.  Can I take your picture?"

Alvin Carter, Sr., is a jazz drummer, a long-time favorite in Hartford.
(The beard extends to Alvin's knees, the product of 12 years' growth.)

Owen (above) and Lynn (below) were celebrating their first wedding anniversary.

  2. All of the people in your portraits look relaxed and happy to have their photos taken and to be in a crowd listening to jazz. Great turnout.

  12. Nice portraits (as always). I especially like the lady with the cross earring. Her smile is very warm and welcoming.

  13. You had to do something while you waited for the music and you did the right thing. He does have an impressive beard that's for sure.

  16. You've caught three very different approaches to beards here, short, medium, and l-o-n-g. I can't imagine how Alvin deals with his. I'd be catching it in everything I had my hands in (including my drum sticks).
