I got off the bike trail to ride to Crosby Lane Beach in Brewster. Actually, I did it twice,
once at low tide and later at high tide. The beach was packed both times on a hot day.
I like bayside beaches at low tide. The departed tide leaves warm, shallow pools
with wiggling marine life. Boats are left high and dry until the next tide comes in.

This three-legged dad carried a grumpy child who was suffering from an excess of beach fun.
On the second visit to the beach, the tide had floated the boats and provided more water
for swimming and splashing.
This dad was spinning the girls in circles and provoking the "oh, dad!" squeals I remember so well.
I hope I am around long enough to spin new granddaughter Willa and
generate some of those happy giggles.
And, beachgoers, like cyclists, must fit ice cream into their plans.
The perfect Summer post. Ice cream at the beach and a three-legged father!
ReplyDeleteSummer fun can't be much better than sun, sea, and sand. It gets even better when grandkids are in tow. Now that mine are older than tots and in teens, I miss the kiddie fun! Wonderful summer seasonal shots.
ReplyDeleteThese photos make me want to visit New England's sandy beaches.
ReplyDeleteI agree with all above !
ReplyDeleteAnd I like your "three-legged dad" :)
Nice shots! Everyone seems to be having a great time :)
ReplyDeleteAnd at low tide you can almost walk forever.
ReplyDeleteca doone vraiment envie de voir la mer ;o)
ReplyDeleteVery nice reportage: 'oh dad' and the ice cream are my favorite shots!
ReplyDeleteAh, nothing better than a fun day at the beach!! Love your captures for the day -- as always!! I know how much you look forward to spending time as "Granddad" with Willa!! Hope your week is going well!! Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteI experienced my first bay-side beach many, many years ago on a trip to Maine. I had never seen such dramatic tide activity before. Love the three-legged dad.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like very pleasant conditions to be out and about at the beach!
ReplyDeleteI think I need to go to the beach - haven't been down to the lakeshore this year yet. Love your shot with the girls and Dad, Jack!
ReplyDeleteNice shot of the three legged Dad! Selling it to the National Enquirer?
ReplyDeleteHow lovely. Your images remind me of photos I took on the east coast here in England. Fun to see the comparison between high and low tide.
ReplyDeleteThese are memories in the making. Wonderful scenes, Jack!
ReplyDeleteAh to live by the seaside.. Or even visit on a hot summers day, that's the life hey Jack. Wonderful series of beach shots, a bay beach is a bit different to my wild coast :)
ReplyDeleteOh by the way, excellent capture of the rare three legged dad, don't see many of them around these days :)
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed. In addition to catching a three legged dad you nailed one with a tail.
