Park Road was once a bit gritty, but in the last decade or two it has been revived
and is now home to a great many interesting restaurants, shops and services.
Maria came here from Poland 35 years ago. She has owned consignment stores for fashionable women's clothing in West Hartford for 19 years, the last 15 on Park Road.
John has been a bartender at Plan B Burger Bar and Tavern since it opened in 2006.
Dan claims he has been sitting at this bar stool at Plan B Burger Bar and Tavern since it opened,
too, and there is no evidence to disprove his claim.
Heng makes sushi at I Love Sushi.
Did I tell you that autocorrect and I have an uneasy relationship?
When I put Heng's name into my iPhone, autocorrect changed it to "He got it."

Natalie has worked for a year in the take-out and catering department of Hall's Market, a local grocery store on Park Road. She is entering her senior year of high school and
hopes to go to college to study international affairs.

You really made the rounds for this post and captured some interesting people. Good luck to Natalie on her quest for international studies and good luck to Dan, hoping that he is able to remain upright during his stay at his favorite Cheers bar. Isn't auto correct a pain?
ReplyDeleteAnother impressive collection of personalities.
ReplyDeleteA varied collection of personalities. I feel as if I shall soon know most of the inhabitants of Hartford!
ReplyDeleteGreat post Jack!
ReplyDeleteI would love to visit these places. Sushi sounds good right now.
ReplyDeleteI love it when a not-so=nice neighbourhood is revived! A good-news post.
ReplyDeleteDan is probably telling the truth. A fine series of portraits here Jack.
ReplyDeleteGreat portraits Jack. Natalie may be working at the White House one day in future and Heng has got some great looking sushi there. It sounds like Marie's store is as successful as the consignment store here. Did you check out the burgers at Plan B?
ReplyDeleteThe bakery at Hall's has my attention!
ReplyDeleteI love a good consignment store! ;-))
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed great to know an area has been "saved and revived" as this one has!! Great people shots for the day -- as always! Enjoy your weekend!!
ReplyDeleteSo, you actually walk down a street, enter every shop and take these wonderful pics?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jack, for your splendid post, photos and text. It's always great to be out and about with you!
ReplyDeleteI often appeared before a judge named Myron Mills at the time we got our first computers with word processing. The spell checker always wanted to write it Moron Mills.
ReplyDeleteNice cross-section of portraits. Does the bar fly have a catheter?
Nice looking places.
ReplyDeletePlan B seems quite good to me...
ReplyDeleteIf you don't already, you're going to have a reputation around the neighborhood: "Here comes that camera guy again!"
