Robert and Carole Leher retired from legal and administrative jobs in Denver ten years ago and started spending winters in Naples, where they had vacationed for decades. They usually drove visiting friends past the beautiful waterfront homes. They started learning about them.
That was the germ of the idea that led to the last three years visiting the homeowners and
writing a richly illustrated and photographed coffee table book, being released this week:
Naples Beach Homes: Cottages, Castles, and the Families that Built Them.
Prominent Naples artist Paul Arsenault's paintings of each home are featured, along with historic photographs, aerial photographs and architectural photographs of the interiors and exteriors.
Detailed stories about the families who built and occupy the homes make the book unique.
All net proceeds from sale of the book will be donated to the Naples Historical Society.
They obviously seized a great opportunity. It undoubtedly will be successful from all appearances,
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful Jack!
ReplyDeleteNice to see they followed through with that inspiring idea.
ReplyDeleteA lot of research went into this project too, I'd wager. I wager a lot. hehehehe

ReplyDeleteLove this kind of books! I recently bought one about Miami interiors. :-)
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteThey are far too young to be retired.
You certainly are finding a lot of busy, successful people! This looks like it's going to be a winner of a book, though I suspect they apparently didn't use any of your photos. Their loss.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea they had!
ReplyDeleteNice looking book.
ReplyDeleteOn their next book they need to feature your photos ... we will give you references as a prominent Naples artist with a world wide following (smile)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful idea, my compliments to the authors !
