Daytime in the Piazza dell'Erbe, an active farmers' market in Padua.
Nighttime. Very quiet!
And, here are two Florentines who did important work in Padua. Each is shown two ways.
I am usually a color guy, but in these cases I might like the black and white images better.
Dante -- writer
Giotto -- painter
Italy is ALWAYS beautiful, as well in color as in B&W.
ReplyDeleteGlad you showed the two versions of this place , wow! what a fabulous architecture !!
You know I like black and white... :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're having a fantastic time!
wow, it really clears out at night! what great statues!
ReplyDeleteI recognise that grumpy face from Facebook :) definitely like the sculptures in black and white best Jack.
ReplyDeleteI"m going with the color guys today and love the composition of the top one although you were very creative in all of them.V
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images. I like the color ones.
ReplyDeleteThe black and white do look very striking. I remember seeing a statue of Dante in Verona too. I love the piazza photos.
ReplyDeleteAh, color or B&W your captures are always superb and fascinating!! Definitely the best way to start my day! Thank you for sharing, Jack! Hope you're having a great visit!! Enjoy a beautiful weekend!!
ReplyDeleteSuch stern guys! I love the piazza at night, Jack.
ReplyDeleteDante and Giotto do look quite serious. I really like the contrasting shots of the piazza.
ReplyDeleteLovely photographs of this Italian market. Dante's statue looks quite unhappy, but Giotto looks more satisfied.
ReplyDeleteDante looks quite stern.
ReplyDeleteLooks like my kind of market.
ReplyDeleteOf the two that I have studied in the past, it's hard to choose the one I like better . . as with the stautes. They're both good to look at and enjoy.
ReplyDeleteQuite the contrast between daytime crowds and nighttime near emptiness.
