A Marketplace and Two Giants


Daytime in the Piazza dell'Erbe, an active farmers' market in Padua.


Nighttime.  Very quiet!

And, here are two Florentines who did important work in Padua.  Each is shown two ways.
I am usually a color guy, but in these cases I might like the black and white images better.

    Italy is ALWAYS beautiful, as well in color as in B&W.

    The black and white do look very striking. I remember seeing a statue of Dante in Verona too. I love the piazza photos.

    Dante and Giotto do look quite serious. I really like the contrasting shots of the piazza.

    Lovely photographs of this Italian market. Dante's statue looks quite unhappy, but Giotto looks more satisfied.

    Of the two that I have studied in the past, it's hard to choose the one I like better . . as with the stautes. They're both good to look at and enjoy.
