Butterflies

Last week I went to the Naples Botanical Garden, where there is a butterfly house.

This handsome lad is a common buckeye butterfly.

And she is an Orange Julia butterfly.

The zebra butterflies were all over the place.

  1. So pretty, the markings are perfectly symmetric, love the zebra stripes. Beautifully shown Jack, I don't think we have a butterfly spot in our botanic garden.. must check!

  2. You swing from portrait to macro photography with the ease of a butterfly.
    Well done, Jack !

  3. These are really amazing shots. It's really great to have the butterflies in a botanical garden so that you can have many of them in one place to photograph.

  5. When the botanical garden opens it's spring butterfly pavilion, we have those Julia's and the Zebras in huge numbers. But then, they get all their butterflies from Florida so that makes sense.

  9. The top one is attractive, so many 'eyes' to warn off predators.

  15. I agree with Kate. Even when you find butterflies they're not always cooperative. But maybe in the warmth of Naples they relax those gorgeous wings more. Wonderful shots.
