Naples Beach

Now that it is January, it is "season."  The tourists and snowbirds have flocked
to Naples and the beaches.

Some never left.

  1. That's a great sight in January, I must say! :)

  2. I don't think I've ever seen that many people on the Naples beach! But, what with all the people moving to Florida - the population was 12 million in 1985 when we came and is now 19 million and our moronic governor is telling everyone to move to Florida even though there's very little of paradise to pave over - this is not a surprise.

That poor guy in the 2nd shot is a sitting advertisement for melanoma!

I kinda like that splash of pink, though.

  3. Lowell thanks for pointing the guy in the 2nd photo. All I could see was the young lady sunning here self. It is 10 °F (-12 °C)here. I envy everyone on this beach feeling the heat of the sun.

  5. Too many people there for my taste, Jack. I prefer less populated beaches. :)

  6. That is a very busy beach and I'm hoping the guy in the second photo has a good dermatologist.

  7. I'm thinking April would be nice. The sun will wait for me. I hope.
Ya, if you are not born in Maine you are from 'Away". I find that rather stupid too.

  8. Can that white-haired gent spell melanoma?

  9. That tanned guy looks to be very proud about it.

  10. Are you trying to say that geezer hasn't budged in months? :-)

  11. That guy is really only 35 years old! Crazy! ;-))

  12. Looks a very popular place. I'd love to be able to sunbathe but, being a real English rose, I just go pink and sore! I guess I am grateful now - a 'deprived' youth means better skin as I get older.

  13. George Hamilton's looking in good condition these days, I see.

I got a kick out of Andy's remark!

  14. Ah, you are right about the one that never left!!! It surely looks better and more fun than old cold, damp, gray Oregon!! Enjoy for me too!!

  15. That dude looks like he has been baking all year long.

  16. I agree with Lowell about the guy in the second shot. I am paying now for growing up on the beach and slathering on the baby oil (no sunscreen back in the old days) with too many visits to the dermatologist!

  17. Oh no, I would rather have the snow. Nice shots.

  18. I could use some of that sunshine now... but not as much as that guy!

  19. This would be also the right January for me...

  20. A familiar sight to me Jack.. not so much the 'man that never left' :)

  21. The man that never left is a quite common feature here...

  22. I wouldn't mind a day at the beach right around now...but I'm perfectly content to stay fish belly white, the favored color of Pacific Northwesters. I'm already single handedly keeping dermatologists happily employed.

  23. I like my gulf beaches less crowded. Tell the old guy he needs to get out of the sun!
