While I was in Columbus, I bought a third row ticket to a game between the
Columbus Blue Jackets and the Philadelphia Flyers.
I tried some photographs of the action with my little compact camera.
The Blue Jackets won 3 to 2 in overtime. That goal was at the other end, so I didn't catch it.

A kind of event that would be nice to photograph. You did it very well!
ReplyDeleteAction shots at athletic events are hard to capture because of the fast action. I've never been very successful; you did a great job. I often visit Jim Klenke's post at http://www.terrelldailyphoto.com Recently he has posted other kinds of shots but look at his older posts. Usually, at least 90% of his photos are of sports events and he's gotten really, really good at it over the last couple years.
ReplyDeleteYour little compact camera did a great job. Wonderful shots.
ReplyDeleteYour little camera did a good job. Fun times.
ReplyDeleteWonderful action shots, Jack!
ReplyDeleteTerrific captures, Jack, and I never expect any less from you!! These are as good as being at the game myself!! Have a great weekend! Enjoy, but stay out of trouble!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that shot of the goalie, Jack! I love a hockey game - even played it in high school.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, especially the shot of the goalie.
ReplyDeleteThe only North American game that I understand. These are some great action shots.
ReplyDeleteLove hockey! Great shots Jack.
ReplyDeleteRegarding your comment at my blog yesterday, I imagine some good buskers make a good deal of money at these events on tips, but they have to balance that out against the costs of travel and those parts of the year they're not performing.
ReplyDeleteI'm pleased you took your compact along to the game Jack ... it gives us the best seat in the house. great shots.
ReplyDeleteNot shots. Not my favorite sport to see live.
ReplyDeleteThose guys look very impressive !
ReplyDeletePS: yes, the casino was destroyed during WarII, Grmans were in need of iron..
Great job with your little compact Jack, love the expressions in the last shot :)
ReplyDeleteYour little camera certainly didn't fail you on your final shot.

Overtime games can be very exciting...although frustrating too.
