Bear's Smokehouse BBQ

Bear's has been open about six months in downtown Hartford and it is already a busy local favorite.
The mural on a flat side wall was painted by Hartford muralist Tao LaBossiere.

This post is linked to Monday Mural.

  1. That's a great mural. Must be a great restaurant too. Would love to see some inside shots.

  4. Beautiful mural, but a bit scary, I'm not sure I would stop here...

  5. That mural is so realistic I was surprised when you said "downtown". It looks like it should be in the country.

  6. What a fun, different place/mural and a great shot as always, Jack!! Looks like places I've seen in Texas, but somehow didn't expect to see one in Hartford!! Hope your week is off to a great start! Have fun!!

  7. I'd expect to see this in Colorado, not Connecticut. The image paired with the wood siding is really cool. Thanks, Jack, for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.

  10. Nice mural! Tao managed to make the whole wall look "country" and authentic. I think I see bricks under it all.

  11. That bear looks like it is protecting it's meat stash inside. It might scare me away.

  12. I like the mural a lot. I've been thinking a lot about what more I wish to write and I'm trying to avoid the usual, but it's really hard and getting harder, and damn, I can hardly bear it!

  13. Great mural... so good that I cannot tell if it is a mural on wood siding or if it is all painted??

I do like seeing the mural "signed" by the artist. Bravo!

  14. Wonderful painting! There's something extra special about the scale of a mural.
