Marilu came here from Venezuela in 2000. She and her husband operate a photo enlargement and printing business in Naples. They serve artists, photographers, businesses . . . and Jack.
Last spring a friend showed me some enlargements that Marilu printed for him. They blew my mind, so I raced over there with a favorite leopard photo. That enlargement came out fabulously.
So, this week I went over with more files for her to enlarge and print.
When framed, they will liven up a guest bedroom and hallway.

Do you print and frame any of your photos? Which ones?
I don't print as many as I should. I had an exhibition last Summer and I have put up some of those prints in the dining room at home.
ReplyDeleteJack, Merilu looks happy to see and pose for you. Will you have this one enlarged for her? I've run out of wall space but have a hard time removing some of the prints and painting I love and keep on the walls although rotating is a fine idea.
ReplyDeleteAny time I see a nice enlargement of one of my photos I regret that I do not print enough of them...
ReplyDeleteMarilu is absolutely lovely. Her name makes me wonder if she has Italian ancestors: here it is the short for Maria Luisa and here is usually pronounced Marilù.
I promise myself I will. As a matter of fact am printing up a set for friends this AM. Gotta do a better job with it. Got plenty.
ReplyDeleteI do often think about it Jack, especially the birds but when I need a piece of art for myself or friends I usually throw some paint at a canvas.. usually works out not too bad :)
ReplyDeleteMy husband is trying to talk me into printing some of mine. Marilu looks like the kind of person I'd want to take my printing jobs to.
ReplyDeleteI print and frame a lot of my photos. In fact, my house is almost totally covered with my photos now. Well it was covered until I moved. I still haven't hung anything at the new place. My favorites are a castle in Italy, a lion I photographed in California, a hibiscus bloom from my old back yard, and a row of monarch butterflies I photographed at the Desert Botanical Garden. Oh, I forgot one, a canal shot in Venice.
ReplyDeleteI don't frame my photos, but maybe I should!
ReplyDeleteI rarely print my photos but I am sure I should get organised to do it. I could use someone like Marilu to advise. Both my camera clubs have upcoming exhibitions so I really should get some done.
ReplyDeleteYour pics are always worth framing, Jack, and I'm glad you've found such a great place to have the enlargement done!! Glad you found Marilu to do that for you! She's a lovely lady!! I haven't framed any of mine, never thought any were worth the effort or the money!! Hope your weekend is off to a great start! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely shot!
ReplyDeleteI haven't, but there are some shots I've taken that I should do just that.
Lovely smile.
ReplyDeleteNo, I don't. They aren't good enough.
(Nope. VDP doesn't own a single Playmobil).
I don't but I should! Maybe this post will get me moving on that, Jack!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of Marilu! I'll bet she'd like a print of that...
ReplyDeleteThe leopard photo is a gem worth showing.
I keep threatening to print and enlarge some of mine; most of those on our walls are from film so you can imagine how quickly I get around to these things. I have favorite shots from Ireland, Paris, and Yellowstone I'd like to get done, plus some local views. They will probably displace some favorite artwork when they're finally hung.
Great smile. No I don't print my photos.
ReplyDeleteThat's a lovely portrait even though the background had me puzzled at first. You've reminded me that my own walls could do with a change of prints.
