All of our shops like this have gone out of business, replaced by modern Garden Centres which have a wide range of stock - but, in my experience, never what you actually want.
Since I am not a successful gardener, I nonetheless adore seed catalogues and stores. Wishful thinking? I did manage a handful of cherry tomatoes this season, tho.
When I was visiting my sister in Missouri we stumbled on the a place very much like this. It was really off the beaten path so it was a surprise to find it where we did. The shelves inside had a huge array of all kinds of seeds for all kinds of vegetables. It's nice to know these places exist.
I do love this building for a seed store!! Now how unique it that!! It is indeed nice to know that places like this exist -- somewhere!! Another great one for the day, Jack! Having fun yet? I just bet you are!
She seems so Young to be a manager . I like the old building , and I remember the special smell of this kind of store , someone in my family had one when I was a kid .
Looks like a great resource and the manager is cute too. Isn't it a bit late in the season to be thinking of seed? Thanks for the book suggestion. Will check it out.
I am not crazy about seeds, but I will surely find something I like...

ReplyDeleteLove that building image. What do seed stores do in the fall?
ReplyDeleteHeritage seeds should always be sold out of a building that looks like this Jack :)
ReplyDeleteLove these shots Jack.

ReplyDeleteI love the look of the building! Although I don't have a garden, it looks like a fun place to explore. :)

ReplyDeleteVery appealing place...it looks pretty irresistible. And the beet seeds remind me that I'm overdue to try planting a fall crop.
ReplyDeleteI love the old building, Jack!
ReplyDeleteFor a second I thought what are Garrots?
ReplyDeleteSo what are you planting? I'm sure Irina helped you choose...
Doing some gardening then? I like the way they stock beetroot under the carrots sign. So sad that there are few of these places left.

What a neat place to purchase seeds. Sure beats the chain store racks!
ReplyDeleteOoh, the array is almost overwhelming.
ReplyDeletePlease add this place to our December itinerary:)
