ReplyDeleteWhat a striking contrast a century makes. I do prefer the intricately carved architecture of the previous century over the sleek 20th century architecture, however if it weren't for that smooth mirror finish we would never get to see fantastic reflections like yours. ReplyDeleteIt's always a toss-up for me but I would probably pick the church too. But I would probably commission the Pei if I was building something.
ReplyDeleteI do love the contrast, but my favorite is the church. The 20th century building makes for terrific reflections though and those are just what you needed for the day!! Perfect! Have a great weekend, Jack, have but stay out of trouble -- well, try to stay out of trouble!!
ReplyDeleteTrinity Church would get my vote too Jack, although.. without I.M.Pei there wouldn't be these fab reflections. Very cute couple pic, did you photo-nap or were they posing just pour vous ?
ReplyDeleteI'd say that modern building is using the older one as part of it's appeal in that fantastic reflection.

I like them both, for different reasons. Pei did a nice job of mirroring Trinity and the surroundings, which I'm sure was his intention.

Difficult to choose a favourite but the reflection is excellent.
ReplyDeleteI have almost the same shot in my US album. I think this is a nice example where each building gains from the proximity of the other - so I will vote for the mirror tower. I thought it was beautiful, especially at night.
