But they're so cute! If you ever get a chance to visit Shark Valley, do so. We used to ride bikes there frequently. One time we saw 150 gators on the 15-mile loop, many of which we had to ride around because they were in the road! Fun!
And how about the grin in the last shot!!! Guess he knows who can run the best!! Yep, good thing you have a real long lens or he might be grinning over what a tasty meal he'd just had!! They're great shots -- whatever!!!

Two things in my favour
1) he can only manage short distances
2) I'm a long, long way away!
I'll keep the snow and you can have the gators. :)
A handsome lookin' fella! I'm not so sure I'd agree with Andy this morning as it is now −13F.
AND they always seem to be smiling, which add to cruelty!
Great Jack. I would rather not even race the guys.

We have the sharks Jack you can deal with the alligators :)
I'm totally scared! Would never want to come face to face with one of these...but I do love your shots, Jack!
Yikes, I think it best to stay clear of them.
Excellent shots of the critter, Jack!
I'm sure they're perfectly pleasant beasties once you get to know them.
Nice photos, Jack. I hope you had a real long lens!
I just as soon steer clear of carnivorous gators with primitive reptilian brains. I'm with Ed on wishing you a long lens and a nearby escape vehicle.

Fierce beasties, Jack!
Nice guys, I would look at them from a distance of 30 miles, with binoculars, so, in case, I have 1 hour advantage...
Your shots on my desktop are about as close as I'd like to come, thank you, though I might consider looking at an alligator belt or handbag up close.
Nope, not a fan!
The moral of the story: keep your distance. Big distance.
Hi Jack! In re to your question about the blog where something was wrong...yes! Didn't find it, heh? Look closer.
Ever watch Swamp People? Has taught me everything I know about gators.
Three great shots of some guys who are loosing their habitat very quickly.
I guess I will have a nightmare tonight...
Maurice Sendak says that "A" is for "Alligators all around".
