Many Florida trees are beautiful.
They are very different from the ones up north that I grew up with.
I could do a daily photo blog of just the trees.

I noticed similar unusual and large trees in South Carolina, too. Makes our Midwest trees look a bit puny.
ReplyDeleteThese are so gorgeous Jack.
ReplyDeleteYour post prompts the question why some trees in tropical climates have evolved with roots that drop and develop into trunks, but up north they do not.
ReplyDeleteWe just returned from 3 weeks in Ethiopia, with very limited internet access (or time).
And I would enjoy a daily blog of trees too!
ReplyDeleteClever trees that grow their own props. How curious.
ReplyDeleteThe trees look beautiful, as does that sunshine.
ReplyDeleteah yes, i am fascinated by those trees as well! so beautiful.... nothing i had ever seen before i visited florida...
ReplyDeleteAre those buttress roots Jack? Love the texture.

I love these with their huge, old trunks and twisted limbs!! It's a little like looking in the mirror these days!! Wonderful captures, Jack, as always! Hope you're enjoying your weekend!!
ReplyDeleteCould be a fun blog, Jack! Maybe you could do Tree Thursday? ;-))
ReplyDeleteI couldn't find a lot of info about the Baker museum with pics of the building itself.
Do! I have a daily photo blog about benches ; ANd never get tired of it. If you love trees , pay that small tribute to them !
ReplyDeleteI'd like to sit in that nearest tree.
ReplyDeleteThe tree in the second photo looks like a banyan tree to me. I well remember the first one I saw as a child when my family lived in Belle Glade, Florida, for one of my Daddy's job sites. My maternal grandparents came over from Jackson, Mississippi, and took my brother Howard and me to see Parrot Jungle. Of course, I remember the vivid birds, but those trees captured my imagination, too. We also toured Hialeah Race Track, too.
ReplyDeleteFlorida, being tropical, supports many trees we never see in the north. Interesting photos.
ReplyDeleteThese look vastly different than the trees I'm used to!
ReplyDeleteAn unusual row of trees from my vantage point. Nothing like that around Coventry :). Love the shot with a touch of red here and there.
ReplyDeleteThose are some unusual looking big trees. Would love to take a snap of them myself.

These are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteA different client and culture. The trees remind me of mangroves.
ReplyDeleteLike Bob, my first though was 'mangroves'.. They have an extraordinary root thing going on there, but there's no doubt they are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThese are really beautiful !
ReplyDeleteThey look alien and fascinating to me...
ReplyDeleteDo post more tree photos! They're very different and beautiful and well worth blog space.
ReplyDeleteNeat pictures! I once did a portfolio of trees for a photography class.
ReplyDeleteImpressive trees! The first picture is wonderful!
