As you have noted in comments on Julie's and Sharon's sites, it is Chihuly time at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix.
Julie has to give a couple of presentations at a conference at the Bellagio in Vegas next week, so she (and her mother) will be checking in at the registration area under what must be the largest Chihuly installation.
Stunning ceiling - what a great idea with white walls. There is a lot of Chihuly work in the Pacific Northwest since he's one of ours. His glass garden in Seattle and museum in Tacoma are both on future itineraries.
Sorry to admit this but I am a bit tired of Chihuly installations --- however, I remember being in awe when I 1st saw his work in Tacoma WA. But I have SOOOO much respect for the people doing glass --- been watching a glass class after I come out of my ceramics class on Tuesdays at the PV Art Center. It is so hard... the instructor made a beautiful brandy glass and DROPPED it when tapping it off the pole (or whatever its called). That was an hours work for a professional!
