Dog owners huddle together to discuss Bruno's latest trim. And the parentage of their dogs. And the dogs' diets. And the dogs' inoculations and operations. And their foibles.
Nancy and Leslie and their dogs sat down beside me while I was having a coffee and reading a book. They had a lovely conversation, which I can quote verbatim if you would like.
Bruno was bored by the conversation. He cuddled up next to me and helped me read my book until he fell asleep.
Nancy and Leslie agreed that I am a very patient man for sitting so calmly with Bruno sleeping on my leg.
Dog people are like that. At my favorite cafe one of the human guests will always greet any new dog arriving with it's owner. He is very popular.

ReplyDeleteThis dog looks very well-coiffed. Dogs cannot get inside any of our coffee shops, but there are legions (packs?) of them outdoors in the summer.
ReplyDeleteI've heard that having a dog is a good way for males to pick up chicks; I wonder, does it work, for women, too? Be careful, Jack!
Oh, there'll be plenty of dog talk here soon, I promise! (I think people without babies just talk about their dogs instead...)

ReplyDeleteI get all of the talk about dogs that I can take from my mother-in-law, who is obsessive about her and other dogs. I cut her off only when she starts talking about bodily functions.
Love it! :) And, when I think of a dog named Bruno, I don't think of a poodle!
ReplyDeleteAs a dog owner and lover, I appreciate these a lot. Where I live you can't enter anywhere public with dogs which I find quite stupid. Some dogs are cleaner then most people that they let go inside. But as I see these were also taken outside. And Bruno is so cute!

Aw! What a good guy you are to let Bruno nap on your leg!! The only reason I wouldn't want to be there in person is that I would start missing my Sam Schnauzer all over again -- well, actually I've never stopped missing him!! Have a fun day!!

ReplyDeleteYou can't take a dog inside a cafe here and I think even on a patio they have to stay outside the fence.

ReplyDeleteThere's a cafe here that caters to people with pets, since they can happen to have a coffee or whatever... in a place filled with goods for cats and dogs. You'll often see dogs in there.
I don't get it. Never did. People are enough stimulation.

ReplyDeleteBruno's a handsome guy; nice shots! There aren't a lot of places around here where dogs are welcomed inside. The interesting thing I've noticed when walking trails with our pooch is that people will exchange dog names and ages but the people remain anonymous. When we needed to try a new boarding place for the pup we were referred by "Daisy's dad."
