Passages Gallery
Rosita owns Passages Gallery on Whitney Street in Hartford. Passages offers custom framing, artwork and gifts, primarily African, Caribbean and African American.
Yvonne was a hostess at an art opening reception when I visited.
The reception was for paintings by Georges Annan Kingsley, a recent immigrant from Ivory Coast. Kingsley's paintings are quite varied, from abstract to figurative, but always colorful.

Your portraits are magnificent Jack.
Fine portraits.
You are so good at portraits! These are fantastic. Portraits on my blog today too, but quite different! :-)
Art work from these areas tend to be colorful and joyful to the eye. Great portraits; isn't it wonderful when people enjoy being photographed. . . or at least, respond in a positive way to our requests!

Jack, you must instantly put your portrait subjects at ease. Instantly! Their eyes are filled with trust that you will take a wonderful photo. I am always so happy when you have new ones to share with us. Thanks!

That is one very cool lens Jack, tres joli portraits.
These are so nicely done. Rosita's eyes are so striking. And I like how you've, uhm, framed each of your subjects. Inspired by the setting, perhaps?
Jack your portraits are stunning. I see you are a patron of the arts. Good for you! Looks like you have a lively local art scene.
Thank you for your comment on my blog today. You got me to thinking and I provided an answer which is probably too long.
